Harada Dali / Toor Dal For a Simple Meal

Harada Dali is very common in every house in odisha . In Odisha Rice is eaten during the lunch accompanied with the Dal, A green veggie known as saaga, badi chura(Dried lentil dumplings are fried and crushed with onion garlic and green chillies in a mortar and pestle).
Being vegetarian Dal is cooked almost evey day in our house and this is the way how I cook most of the time, very Simple yet very delicious.





Ingredients:
1 cup  Harada dali/unoily toor dal
3 cups water
1 Tsp Salt
1/2 TspTurmeric

For Tempering:
1 Tbsp Oil
1/2 Tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds
Pinch of Asafoetida
1 Onion chopped
Few Curry Leaves
2 Green Chillies Slit 
1 Tomatoes Chopped
Few Coriander leaves Chopped

Pressure cook Dal with Water , Salt and Turmeric.












Now for Tempering  take a kadai heat oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let it splutter. 
Now add Asafoetida,green chillies and curry leaves. Then add Onion and let it cook till it is slightly browned and then add chopped Tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes. Now pour the tempering to the dal and garnish with coriander leaves.

Chocolaty Strawberries

As the Summer is approaching lots of get together and guests coming to home will be more frequent. This recipe is really easy and a delicious light desert after a heavy meal.

Ingredients:

Few Chocolate chunks
Strawberries
Ground Roasted Nuts(I have used Cashews, Almonds and Pistachios)



Melt the chocolate chunks in microwave for a minute.
Dip 3/4 of a strawberries in melted chocolate and then dip the tip in nuts and let it sit on a wire rack in a refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Now enjoy a fruity Chocolaty Desert.

Apple Carrot Smoothie : Healthy Breakfast Smoothie

We all love healthy yummy smoothies and most of the time we buy it from the shelf. Its really easy and less time consuming to prepare at home and I love to prepare mine at home.
one of the healthiest thing to have in the morning. Even if you miss your breakfast you can have this on the go. Make these healthy yummy filling smoothies for your breakfast and let me know if you liked it.





Ingredients:

1 Carrot
2 Apples
1 cup Orange juice
1 Cup of pineapple cubes
1 Tsp Flax seed meal (optional)
Water as required

Put every thing in the blender and add required amount of water to it and blend till smooth.
Enjoy your healthy breakfast smoothie.
